Holy updates and adventures! My foster mom drove us 8 hours south to visit family for Christmas. We stayed at two different houses, and I met a lot of people! One night there was a party with about 25 people . . . kids and adults. While I'm not much of a foodie, I did attempt to try a potato chip but was busted before I could make it happen. Can't blame a girl for trying! I mentioned before how soft I am. That made me quite popular, and everyone wanted to pet me. Two 4 year old girls who looked exactly alike spent most of the night petting and loving me. At one point, while sitting in front of the fireplace with the girls petting me, I dozed off while just sitting there. I played with a couple different dogs. My foster grandma has a Terrier mix that is 12 years old. She is kind of cranky and didn't really play with me. But then, I went to my foster aunt and uncle's where they have two Boxers, a Puggle, and three kids. I played in their giant fenced in yard with one of the Boxers for hours. We ran and wrestled and had a grand old time! My foster mom said I have yeastie beasties in my ears. The Vet gave us ear drops. When mom tries to put then in I pretend I'm a bucking bronco and see how long she can hang on. It's quite entertaining, and then she gives me a good talking to and I go back to being a yellow Lab and in the ear drops go. We got a puppy. A little chocolate Lab. Mom says the house has turned into a WWF wrestling ring. Mom spends a lot of time walking around with Natures Miracle and a roll of paper towels. I went to the dog park for the first time yesterday. That totally rocked. I think my foster mom has been holding out on me! To celebrate our successful outing to the dog park mom suggested we go to Dairy Queen for a treat. She got a Blizzard, which she didn't need since she hadn't gone to the gym in two weeks. I got a dog treat. No ice cream. It didn't like a very equitable distribution of treats. I've adjusted well in my foster home and am still working on obedience. I'm excited about finding my forever home!
I'm a lover!!! I'm Molly, a 1 1/2 year old yellow Lab mix. I came from a shelter so my foster mom doesn't know much about my history. I have the softest coat around and am quite the snuggler. I get to sleep on the people bed at night but otherwise am not allowed on the furniture. I'm pretty sure I would love to cuddle on the couch, given the chance. I love going for walks but need some work on a leash. In spite of that, my foster mom has taken me on a couple runs, and I not only liked it but did pretty well on the leash. That assessment is based on the fact that my foster mom hasn't face-planted on the sidewalk at any time as a result of my leash skills! I have a fondness for squirrels and rabbits which is part of my leash problem. I would really like to catch one but am pretty sure I wouldn't know what to do with it if I did! I have lots of toys, Kongs with peanut butter, squeaky toys, tennis balls, and Nyla bones, to name a few. I do well at entertaining myself with those . . . in between checking in on where my foster mom is and taking naps. I have a soft mouth and a nice hunt/prey drive . . . so I wonder if I might make a good hunting partner! My nose is pretty good so I may also have potential as a tracking dog. I'm still being introduced to new experiences. I like my foster mom's nieces quite a bit! They are 11 and 7. I'm cautious around males. I'm curious about them and slow to warm up. We are working on obedience but still have a lot to do. I am food motivated inside the house if there are few other distractions. If I'm outside, the distractions trump the food. My forever home should be dedicated to a good walk each day and continued training. I need to be in a home with a fenced backyard so I can run and play.
