Hello all! My name is Gage. I am a very handsome black Lab mix, about 16 months old and pretty sleek looking. I just arrived at my foster home on 1/10/26, and boy, do I love it here! I have heard my foster mom call me a “Velcro dog.” I just think people are fabulous, and I love everyone I meet. I have three foster siblings that I love to play with - but I also know I’d better back off when they tell me to. I have very soft, beautiful fur - at least that’s what my foster family says. I hear that I am a very typical young/puppy Labbie… whatever that means. I love to jump, but who doesn’t? I mean, they don’t let puppies in gyms, so I need to build muscle in other ways. I love to be on the bed but am told to get down, usually a few times, but it’s so hard when I see my foster sibling on the bed. I get to go to the park to chase a ball, and although I do bring it back a few times, I like just chasing my foster sister better. Again, muscle building. I have gotten a walk every day, and boy, are those amazing! So many smells, so little time. I do like to zigzag a bit on walks. How else do you catch all the smells? I hear foster mom say I need some work on leash walking. I also like to hop up on the counter here and there. Some good smells up there. I am a fan of bones or really anything I can chew on. When my foster family leaves, I do go in my crate, but that’s okay because when they are home, and even at night, I get to be out and free. I have 14 and 16-year-old foster humans, but haven’t met any younger humans. Foster mom says I am very sweet and would likely do great with little humans. I do know “sit,” which I do really well when treats are involved, but “stay”… that one is tough for me. I know I am supposed to go outside to do my business, and have only had one small accident in the house. I also have good recall and can be outside off-leash. I usually just follow one of my foster siblings around and try to play. I hear my foster mom say I am a smart boy, so training should be easy. I just need to get my puppy energy out. I love to play, so a home with a canine sibling would be great, so I could have my own built-in best friend. I think I would do well as an only dog, too, because I like to have all the attention. So, if you are looking for a sweet boy who will steal your heart, keep you active, and be your shadow, I will be waiting for you! |
