Hi everyone, my name is Marley. I’m a 50-lb, 2-year-old spayed female lab mix. I came from a high-kill shelter in Louisiana after my previous owner could no longer care for me, and I’m now learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and part of a family. My foster mom says I am one of the sweetest girls you’ll ever meet. I can be a little timid with new people at first, but with a calm approach and a few treats, I warm up and show my gentle, loving personality. I currently live with a foster sister dog and a foster brother cat. I get along very well with my foster sister; I was a little unsure at first, but with slow introduction, I opened up and became comfortable. I don’t mind the cat either, though if he starts running, I will chase him out of curiosity. I know sit and shake, and I’m working on stay, wait, off, and better leash-walking skills. My foster mom and I are still learning how to signal potty time, but when my foster sister goes, I go too, just to be safe – no accidents so far. At night I sleep quietly in my kennel, and during the day if I’m kenneled while my foster mom runs errands, I might bark a bit at first but settle down quickly - frozen peanut-butter Kongs are my favorite distraction. I enjoy car rides, playing ball, exploring the yard, and relaxing with toys. I’m a loyal companion who loves to follow my person around the house and curl up next to them on the couch. I’ve truly enjoyed my time in my foster home, but I’m ready for my forever family. It's not a requirement, but I would love a home with a fenced-in yard so I can play and stretch my legs, and an active family who will enjoy spending time with me and will let me snuggle with them after a fun, busy day. I can’t wait to meet the people who will give me a lifetime of love. More about MarleyGood with Dogs
