BELLE UPDATE 11/25/2025

Belle here just dropping in for a pup date!

My TPLO knee surgery was completed on November 14.  The doc said it went as expected with no plot twists, now it just needs to heal. No one mentioned to me I can have ZERO fun for the next 8 weeks. That wasn’t mentioned in the brochure…

I would like to point out the injustice of being kenneled nearly 24/7.  My foster parents say it’s for my own good so my leg can heal but I’ll be honest, I don’t like it. I’m out of the kennel a couple times a day for some lovin’ and therapy but I’m ready to go back to WWF wrestling with my foster brother!

The first week of December we see the doc again to determine how I am progressing.  Hopefully I can get rid of this dumb cone around my head.

My foster parents are convinced there is a 3 year old lab trapped in my 7 year old body.  In spite of my caged walls, I’m just a happy go lucky girl that thrives on being showered with love and attention. I still get to go on walks but they are pretty short right now.

On today’s walk, I scavenged something off the ground. As soon as mom realized I had something in my mouth, GAME ON. She tried fishing into my mouth from both sides, she used the head shake method, and eventually had to go head on. She shoved her hand in and dug out a chicken wing I was enjoying. Mom’s got some moves. She danced around while trying to extract my prize. I kind of wish I had eaten a little poo, would have made it FAR more interesting. Maybe a little dancing with the stars in her future???

Currently, my favorite toy is a stuffed taco that I hold in my mouth.  Ya never know when you might get a craving for a taco so I like to keep it close by. I also have plenty of bones to chew on to pass some of the time.

MEDICAL HOLD

Hi there, I’m Belle!

I’m a 7½-year-old yellow Labrador with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging! I adore people and think attention is the best thing ever — I might be a little pushy about it, but I’m learning to be polite.

I'm house broken and like to sleep on the couch or the bed. My foster parents were a little surprised at my ability to spring onto the bed with my bad knee!

I love walks, playing with my foster brother, and snuggling up with my foster family. I do have a torn ACL (ouch!), so I’ll be having surgery soon, but I’m already practicing nose work to keep my brain busy while I rest my leg. It’s actually really fun — I’m kind of a detective now!

Speaking of detecting, I'm an expert at detecting food.  Which sometimes means I check the kitchen counter for food.  I'm working on it but it's a thing for now.

When I’m all healed up, I’ll need continued physical therapy and lots of love. I’d enjoy a home where someone’s around to give me attention (and belly rubs, obviously). I like other dogs and could happily live with one — or I’d be perfectly content as your one-and-only best friend.

If you’re looking for a loyal cuddle buddy who’ll keep you smiling every day, I think we’d make a great team.

Stay tuned for more updates...

Love,
Belle
