ON HOLD 11/6/2025 We are Zeus and Odin. We are getting ready for our forever home(s). We are about 1.5 years old and believed to be Labrador / Great Pyrenees mixes. We are gentle, quiet observers by nature. We are brothers who spent the first part of our lives living outside in a dirt pen with very little care. We didn’t know what it meant to feel safe, to be indoors, or to belong to anyone. Now that we finally do, we are learning slowly, quietly, and with gratitude. We move softly. We take treats gently. We walk calmly and stay close to the person we trust, offering quiet “check-ins” to say, “I’m here, and I’m with you.” We do not jump on furniture or rush through life. We think, we observe, we wait for direction. New sounds and sudden movement still startle us, but we do not react with panic. We pause, listen, and make sense of things in our own time. We are cautious, not fearful. Thoughtful, not timid. We were not raised with comfort, yet we carry no hardness.
We are currently in separate foster homes, each learning how to live inside, rest peacefully, and trust people at our own pace. We are doing well apart, so we can be adopted separately, but we are also well-matched brothers who could thrive together. We engage well with other dogs who are calm, respectful, and not rough in their play. We are drawn to quiet energy, not wrestling or chaos. In our foster homes, we are given free roam at night and settle nicely when our foster family has to leave for a while. We do not chew, destroy, or create problems. We rest. We wait. We respect what we are trusted with.
We need and deserve a patient home. Kind voices. Predictable routines. Respectful children would be okay, as long as they understand calm energy and boundaries. We would prefer a fenced yard. Not for high-energy play, but for peace. We like to stand in the open air, observe, breathe, and feel safe. Rural simplicity would suit us best. Space, quiet, natural rhythms, and a slower pace, where we can listen, watch, and simply exist without worry with humans who value quiet connection over constant activity.
If you are looking for a dog, or two, who will bring peace instead of noise, trust instead of chaos, and presence instead of demand…we may be the ones you’ve been waiting for.
10/30/2025 – Odin and Zeus Have a Story to Tell About a month ago, L.E.A.R.N. received an urgent call about a heartbreaking neglect case involving nineteen dogs used for breeding, living in filth and fear. The owners’ home was being condemned, and all the dogs needed safe places immediately. Among them were two young brothers, Odin and Zeus—labeled “Labs,” about a year and a half old. We put out a desperate plea for fosters, and two amazing families stepped up. While waiting for placement, RR Professional Dog Training arranged for them to enter the Moose Lake Prison Training Program. Within a day, they were pulled from despair and delivered to safety. After baths and gentle care, their beautiful coats and personalities began to shine. Maybe there’s a hint of Lab in them, maybe not—but what truly mattered was that they were safe, loved, and finally given a chance.
During their month in the prison program, their handlers taught them basic commands and helped them build confidence. The transformation has been remarkable—both boys are now trusting, gentle, and eager to please. Odin and Zeus are now part of the L.E.A.R.N. family, experiencing warmth and kindness in their foster homes for the first time. They’re learning what it means to feel safe and loved, and we’ll continue to share updates as they blossom. They may not be purebred Labs, but they’re 100% heart—and 100% deserving of forever homes.
If you or someone you know could be their perfect match, please consider adopting or sharing their story.
Special thanks to Jan, RR Professional Dog Training, and the Moose Lake Prison Training Program for giving Odin and Zeus their new beginning. Their journey is a powerful reminder of why rescue work matters.
