5/13/21 Update Life is pretty decent now that it has warmed up. I LOVE being outside and prefer a very active lifestyle. This shorter leg of mine doesn't slow me down at all. My foster mom says it's time for me to find my forever family. I think the perfect family would have a nice fenced yard to spend my time in with a playmate or two. I need plenty of exercise so a family that hikes, walks, jogs or does whatever I would like to be part of! If you think you fit the bill and are an approved adopter please let L.E.A.R.N know so you and I can meet. P.S. a home without cats would be best 4/22/21 Update I went to see the specialist and they don't think that there is anything they can do for me that wouldn't cause me more pain and its not a guaranty it would actually help me in the long run. So we are not going to do anything surgical for me.  They said that I may have arthritis earlier than other dogs but that should be about my only limitation.  They think that swim therapy would be a good activity for me to start doing. Foster mom is looking for a place near her for me to start going to.  So we will find out soon how I like the water!   If you would like to donate to my swim therapy please do so through the sponsor/donate button below.    4/15/21 Hi everyone!  My name is Gus, I'm about a year old and I came to L.E.A.R.N. 3 weeks ago.  My foster mom says I’m a tall and handsome boy!  I’m learning sit, down and off. I guess there are a few other things I need to learn too, But here is some more information about me first. I was a stray in Texas and I had a broken leg when I was taken to the shelter.  They said it was already healing and they couldn’t do anything to help me.  A nice man took me out of the shelter and sent me to L.E.A.R.N.  Now L.E.A.R.N. is doing everything they can to help me! While I have been here I have already seen the vet a few times.  First I had my leg x-rayed and looking at it you can see why I am in so much pain.  I don't put much weight on it or use it too much but we are hopeful that the specialist we are seeing soon will have some ways to help my leg and that I will be able to use it again without pain. Then I went to the vet and was neutered, there I got some much needed pain meds for my leg, antibiotics for an infected wound under my chin and that is all in 3 weeks!  PHEW!!! I will keep you posted on what the specialist says but for now I just wanted to let you know I am here and that I will need a forever home at some point.
