Hi - my name is Cooper. My owners surrendered me because they moved to a place where dogs had to stay outside, and I'm used to being indoors. So they gave me up, but they brought all my records with me so people know I was well taken care of.
I'm 9 1/2 years old and may have an old guy's white face, but don't let that fool you, I'm more like a 7 year old. I love to go for mile long walks and go for rides in the car. I like to have a little freedom when on the leash, but I will walk nicely at your side if that's what you want me to do. I don't counter-surf, and I don't beg. . . well, I may ask for some of your food by giving you a hopeful look, but if you say no, I will go lie down. I know come, stay, sit, paw, down, and will basically do whatever you ask me to. What can I say? I'm an easy-going guy and a people pleaser at heart.
The only thing I don't do is retrieve, but maybe you could teach me! I like to be wherever my foster Mom is when she's at home, and I catch up on my sleep when she goes out. I've been trustworthy from the beginning and haven't gotten into anything when I've been left alone.
Want to hear a funny story? When I came to my foster Mom's house, she decided to give me a bath and took me in the bathroom, pointed at the tub and I jumped right in! No kidding; I jumped in without any hesitation. Was she surprised! She gave me a nice bath, and the next morning when she was getting ready for work, I went in the bathroom and jumped in the tub again. I was trying to tell her how much I like water. She just smiled and said I already smelled good and didn't need another bath. Aw shucks!
I can be a little silly. I like it at my foster home and having a foster lab brother, but I hope to meet my forever family soon because I have a lot of love to give. Do you have it in your heart to give a lovable guy like me a home. Maybe?
