Stop the Madness – Operation Peanut's Promise
Pushkin is on hold…

3/18/15 Pushkin surprised me this week when a friend brought him a big squeaky toy. He turned into a retrieving maniac! He races after it, races back and almost throws it to me. Who knew?! He is a little rough looking yet but is at a good weight, and I think his gross parasites are gone--we have another recheck in a week. He becomes paralyzed with fear easily, but I have a feeling it's just going to take a retrieve or two to snap him out of it.  He gets along with other dogs, rides nicely in the car, and is generally a great guy. We just need to do a little more training and exposure to the world.

February Update: Pushkin is a healthy, playful 1 year old Labrador. I do think he has some baggage from his rough start. He is very friendly and loyal, but I don't think he'd like a crazy household. He LOVES to play and is very gentle with taking treats and handing the toy back. I don't think he's going to run marathons, though. He gets along with other dogs. He was an incredibly fast learner. I will post some new pics of this shiny, filled- out, happy Labrador soon.

1/16/15 These are handsome boys (Zach & Pushkin). Physical health--Lymes and Lungworm (ugh!). Titers done for Distemper, and both visited Harris Pet Hospital for "tutoring" on Tuesday.

Mental health . . .they are kind of a mess. Terrified. Just paralyzed. They only eat if I turn my back, which is heartbreaking. They do everything they can to stay under the radar. So unlike a Labrador! However, they are perfectly clean as far as housetraining goes and also walk politely on a leash, and jump in my van like they've done it every day. Luckily for these dogs, I am very patient, and the LEARN team is behind them. I know there is a happy, playful dog in there. Stay tuned.

Pushkin isn't up for adoption yet, but stay tuned for updates. If you think you might be interested in meeting/adopting Pushkin please fill out an adoption application and have a home visit first.  – If you have already done these things then feel free to email L.E.A.R.N. to let them know you would like to be put on his potential family list.
