Stop the Madness – Operation Peanut's Promise
Bucky is on hold…

Bucky is a black Lab, apx. 9 mos. old.

1/30/15 Bucky has been neutered and seems to be doing fine. The vet said he should not play hard for a week, but he really needs his fun time. He is completely potty trained, goes to the door and waits. We tried to get him to ring the bells on the door, but he still hasn't gotten the idea.

He barked for the first time when a friend came over to visit, but calmed down right away. We were shocked because he never had barked before. We are trying to make him sit before eating. Now he gets part of his dinner and waits a short time for the next part. The vet said he is a very handsome fellow and we agree!

1/17/15 We got a 42 pound bundle of sweetness named Bucky last Sunday. He is doing his business outside and has not had a mistake since Sunday, his first day. We are trying to have him swipe the door with his paws to ring the bells.  He looks confused, but we hope he will get the connection.

He is still shy when meeting new adults, and will pull away when being petted, but for now the two of us are his pack.  He is particularly bonded with my husband, who has lots of time to give him walks and attention.  Bucky follows him around the house, wags his tail, and is playing with toys, pouncing on the toy rabbit and chewing on bones.

Bucky has has few medical problems; no whip worms, no heartworm, and an exposure to Lyme's disease but no symptoms.  We are treating him for Lymes just in case.  Bucky gets neutered, titered and chipped next week.

We see no behavior problems, just a timid little guy who is getting used to new situations. Today he will go to Pet Smart to get some more food and treats.

Bucky isn't up for adoption yet as he is still going through his evaluation period, socialization, and vetting needs but stay tuned for updates. If you think you might be interested in meeting/adopting Bucky please fill out an adoption application and have a home visit first. – If you have already done these things then feel free to email L.E.A.R.N. to let them know you would like to be put on his potential family list.
