Trisket is from the Stop the Madness group – Operation Sunday Labs ~
Adoption pending…
4-16-15 I'm back. I'm taking a shy/reactive class and slowly making strides to becoming a happy boy! Hey, I even tried counter surfing the other day . . . it didn't work out too well for me. :-0
I have one more treatment for whipworm. My foster family thinks it will then be time to find my forever family. Hopefully they can join me at my training classes. The instructor thinks that would be a good idea for everyone. If you are patient and willing to work with me, I would be a great addition to your home.
We are looking for a very special family for Trisket. Hopefully one that is willing to go to the shy/reactive classes with him, so the family can see what needs to be done to continue to work with him and build his confidence.
Trisket won't be ready for adoption until he's had another treatment for whipworm. However, we are currently evaluating families for that special someone to work with Trisket.

3/12/15 Hi All:
Just wanted to give an update on Trisket. It will be a month this Sunday since he came to us from TCC. He, Dan and Luke are doing very well together. Myself and Hannah he is warming up to. I must have put my coat on wrong one of the first days he was here, and we are finally coming out of that big scare.
Hannah, his foster-fur sister, is blind, and he is trying to figure that out . . . although they are getting closer. He does have whipworm and is on a 3 month treatment. Trisket will also be starting shy/reactive class on April 1st. He is such a love and will make a good dog for a patient family. I would say he will be ready to go end of May beginning of June.

2/25/15 Trisket is still on hold. He is working with a shy/reactive trainer, and he is taking baby steps. Trisket is such a love and does not have a mean bone in his body!
He loves his foster brother, Luke, and they play constantly. He's not too sure about his blind little foster sister, Hannah, because she wears this funny contraption around her head so she does not bump into things. The foster kitty ignores him. He loves his foster Dad and is learning to trust his foster Mom. Stay tuned for this little guy; he will make some family very happy. ~~~~~~~~~
1/14/15 Trisket is making progress. He now knows the commands sit, lie down, and is about half way on "give paw."
He is having some trust issues with unknown people which we are working on. He will continue to be in foster care until we believe he has gained some confidence.

11/23/14 Today was a great day for Trisket. TCC has a trainer who comes out every other week for 2 hours, and we spent more than half of that working with Trisket and Goldie (another Stop The Madness Lab).
When Trisket first came in to the training room he was pretty unsure because it was yet another new flooring (big blue wrestling style mats cover the floor) so that took a minute to adjust to.
Trisket is so little that he fits under a chair, and that is where he really prefers to be. But today we worked on him coming out for treats and just learning that he gets good things like treats and pets when he does. Then, totally by surprise, we bounced a tennis ball a few times and sent it rolling across the room, and Trisket chased after it!!! He was so surprised by that he wasn't sure what to do with it, but finally figured out he would pick it up with his mouth. He did that a few more times and eventually figured out if he brought the ball to his handler it would end up being thrown again. So I think we will have a fetcher in a day or so. :)
He is still so unsure of the world, but he let me pick him up and put him in my lap. He just sits there so nicely. . . I could snuggle him all day.
He is still dealing with loose stool, but his handler is taking him out every 2 hours so he isn't having as many accidents inside. He has already put on a couple pounds I am sure. I couldn't see his ribs today like I could a week ago.
He also was blessed and honored to receive the cute coat that was Peanut's. He was not so sure about that. He stood like a statue with it on, but I think he will get used to it. :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~ Trisket is up for adoption BUT
he is still going through his confidence building as well as still working on clearing up the whipworms he came into foster care with. If you think you might be interested in meeting/adopting Trisket please fill out an adoption application and have a home visit first. www.labadoption.org/info/adoption – If you have already done these things, please email our LabMatch committee and let them know you would like to be on his potential family list.
