Hi there, Ruby here. I'm a pretty yellow girl between 8 and 10 years old. I love people and other dogs and children. Cats don't bother me either. I was in a foster home with laminate flooring but had to be moved because I kept slipping on the floor, and it was hard for me to get up. I'm now in a foster home that has a lot of carpeting ... so it's pretty good. There are only 4 steps to get into the house, and I handle those with no problem. I think more steps would be a little difficult. My previous owner took me in to animal control to have me euthanized. I guess he didn't want to deal with the fleas I had and all the other things resulting from the fleas and poor maintenance. I was also very obese. A volunteer happened to be there at the time, and she said she would take me to foster. Whew that was a close one! L.E.A.R.N. was called, and I was transferred to them. Anyway now I'm free of fleas :-) and most of my other problems stemming from the fleas are cleared up. I'm still a little on the chunky side, but that is being worked on. I do have arthritis, but with supplements I'm doing just fine. I would be better off with a carpeted home and not too many stairs. I don't need a crate because I do not destroy anything or have accidents in the house. I'm pretty much a couch potato so living with anyone who doesn't want to have to exercise me a lot would be fine. A nice, short, daily walk would be good.
