Vuki is a gorgeous 3 1/2 year old, purebred, yellow English Labrador. He was surrendered to the Anit-Cruelty Society in Chicago by his owner due to financial hardship. Poor Vuki lived outside in a dog house his entire life and has little, if any, training. Since he had little interaction with people his whole life, he has an almost puppy-like personality. He does things like grabbing socks when you are trying to put them on, and anything that dangles in front of him is a toy to him: scarves, gloves, you name it. He has a wonderfully sweet personality and is wonderful with other dogs. Don't know about cats. He goes to the dog park and gets along with all the other dogs and doesn't seem to be afraid of anything...not even the train that goes by the park or all the cars in the city. Surprisingly, he is a breeze to walk, too...no pulling at all. He's very friendly and just wants to say hi to everyone. He does try to jump on people to greet them. So we are working on staying down. He's a little stubborn and needs a firm hand. He doesn't understand why he has to sit and wait for his food. He gets this funny quizzical look on his face, like he's asking "why do I have to wait? Nobody made we wait before." It's really cute. He's now a pro at it though. He stays in a crate for a few hours during the day and is a very good boy. We have 2 other dogs, and at least one of them usually sleeps near the crate with him. So we're not sure how he would do if he was by himself in a crate. He had an ear infection when we got him, but it's all clear now. The Vet thinks he may be prone to them, (What Lab isn't?!) so he needs someone to be vigilant about keeping his ears clean. It would just take a cleaning once or twice a week. He's very good about letting you clean and medicate his ears. Vuki is one of the most beautiful labs I have ever seen, with a personality to match. He's going to make someone a fantastic companion.
