Rusty is a tremendously sweet chocolate Lab.  In October, the Vet estimated his age at 'no more than 2. He has lots of personality, is playful, can be energetic, but also can be quite calm. He walks well on extendable leash or gentle leader, loves dog parks, dogs and people of all ages. He has not been tested with cats. He generally has good manners; doesn't counter surf, isn't quick to raid the trash, generally stays off furniture, and isn't a 'terrible beggar.'

Rusty will need a family truly content to attend to his apparent allergy issues. Without medication (maintenance level steroid), his itching becomes extreme, over his entire body, within a couple of days, and tends to lead quickly to skin staph infections. He is completely responsive to treatment with steroid, a bath every couple of weeks, and ear washes ever few weeks. Otherwise, he is nearly perfect, and he is truly an absolute joy.
