Hello, my name is Roxie. I am an adorable 5 year old black, spayed, female Lab mix. I am currently about 90 lbs, but with some exercise, I should lose a few more pounds. My previous owner passed away last Spring, and I have been living with my neighbor and her 3 Shelties since then. They are all a lot of fun, but I am clearly too much dog for their home and need a much bigger abode. Sadly, I have seen little of the world as my previous owner, although she loved and took good care of me, didn't exercise me other than the occasional walk. I am on the quiet, gentle side and settle nicely when I come inside. I am not the dominate dog of my pack, but I will stand up for myself if pushed. I jump on people when they first come in the house or yard, settling quickly to just be a dog. I used to be crated a lot, but since being with my foster Mom, I'm just gated off in a room when she's not home. I'm ashamed to admit, but sometimes I do counter surf. I love to chase my ball and lean toward the mid-range on the energy scale. I love to go for rides in the car. I get out of the way of the vacuum cleaner but am not afraid of it. However, I'm not too crazy about the lawn mower. I've been around kids but never around cats. Since I chase squirrels and rabbits, I probably wouldn't do well with cats. I would prefer a fenced in yard, please.
In short, I am a big girl with a big heart who loves people, and I need someone to love me in a somewhat active, spacious household for my Forever Home.
