Hello Labbie Lovers!!! My name is Dante, like Dante's Peak (a movie made in 1997 with Pierce Brosnan), but don't let his good looks overshadow my handsome face. As you can see, I am a black lab who is 1.5 years old and am very well behaved!! You wouldn't think that a young dog like myself would be someone you would trust with your back turned, but all those other young dogs are giving me a bad name!! I am a sweet and affectionate pup who will walk by your side when you get up to get something to eat, because I LOVE to eat!!! I live with a foster brother and sister and the foster sister leaves her food because she is a grazer and when she not looking, I sneak in some bites. YUMMY!! I reside in a house that has a fenced in backyard, so my foster parents do not have if I would do good in a house without a fence. I might surprise you and do excellent without a fence. I do not go into kennels well, so I have to be convinced to go in with my food. The first night I was in my foster home, I cried until the wee hours of the morning while I was in the kennel, and when my foster dad finally got up to let me come into the bedroom, I curled up next to the bed and slept like a baby. I could not believe it took him that long to let me out and sleep with them! Now I just sleep next to them, but have moments when I get up during the night and jump on the couch. Do not tell my foster parents that, because they do not like it when I go up there. I also like to jump up on the bed, but they do not like that either. They have too many rules, but I am told that is what I need to be a good boy. I am currently up to date with all my vaccinations. I have a microchip so I do not get lost, and I have these cute ears that will make you say, "Awwwww!" I would do better in a home with no dogs because I can be stubborn when it comes to food, people or my own. I usually lay down when my humans are eating, but sometimes when other dogs are around me, I can be snarky with them.
