Chloe here, with an update:  every day is a wonderful new adventure! I've been happily exploring the local hiking trails, hanging out on the deck, and enjoying play dates with my buddies. My foster family is impressed with how adaptable I am—I'm just as happy sprinting as I am chilling by your side on a patio. And my foster humans are impressed with my polite manners:  I'm learning to ring the doorbell when I need to come in from outside and I wait patiently when asked—I’m a pro at impulse control! And I'd love nothing more than a permanent playmate and companion.

Hello there! I’m Chloe, and I’m a 13 month-old lab mix. I’m pint-sized, weighing in at 46 lbs., so I look like a lab puppy even though I’m pretty grown up! I’m also a tripod—I lost my rear leg after an accident—but I don’t let that slow me down! I learned to adapt, and I can still do all the things a four-legged dog can do, like chasing squirrels, climbing stairs, jumping into the car, and, if you let me, hopping up onto the couch!

My speeds are zoom and zero. Since my walking gait is a bit of a hop, I prefer to sprint when I get the chance. I adapted quickly to my foster home and love hanging out on the deck to keep an eye out for intruders—squirrels and rabbits don’t stand a chance when I’m on duty! I have excellent social skills and get along with all my canine friends. I love to run and play chase, and I’m a very easygoing and chill girl.

Here are a few more things to know about me:
    • I’m completely housebroken and go to the back door when I need to go out, but I easily adapt to a routine if I’m let out on schedule.
    • I’m comfortable in my crate, and often go down for a nap all by myself when I'm tired.
    • I sleep on my own bed on the floor in my foster parents’ room.
    • When the parents leave me alone, I might complain for a little while but I always settle down after a few minutes.
    • I'm happy to just chill on the couch or on a dog bed when my people are around. If you work from home, I promise I'll lay quietly in my crate or on my bed! I'm the best personal assistant ever!
    • I’m a social animal, and love to run around with other dogs.
    • I'm a quiet girl, but I'll bark at dogs passing by—it’s just a part of my job, right?
    • I follow directions fairly well, and, while I still have a lot to learn, I’m an eager learner.
    • I’m cautiously curious about new people, and don’t invade their personal space.
    • I walk pretty well on a leash, but I’d rather run than walk. I love exercise, but I’m not hyper.
    • I sleep when my fosters sleep, and get up when they get up.
    • I enjoy a good chew toy, but I don’t destroy them. I also happily share my treats and toys with my friends. When they steal things from me, I just let it go.
    • I love car rides and I'm a great companion to go with you places. I’m happy to just relax and people-watch.

I've been told that I'm a survivor! All I need is a soft place to land and your kindness and compassion, and I'll be your loving companion :)
