Hi everyone! Do you love chocolate? If so, you’ll love me even more—because, according to my foster mom, I’m sweeter than chocolate itself! My name is Dexter, I’m a 2-year-old chocolate Lab, and from what I hear, I’m pretty close to perfect. Even though I’m young, I’m an easygoing guy and would make a wonderful companion—even for a first-time dog owner. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy my walks and sometimes get the “zoomies,” but I also settle down nicely in the house. I listen well, too—when told “no,” I stop right away, because I really don’t like being scolded. I’m a typical Lab in all the best ways: I adore attention, love pleasing my people, and have a curious nose that sometimes distracts me when I’m called (hey, I am a Lab!). I know my name, “stay,” and I’m working on being more consistent with “sit.” I’m fully house-trained, haven’t had any accidents in my foster home, and I only chew on toys that are meant for me. I enjoy a good game of fetch, but I’m also happy to hang out and relax. I do well in the house without a crate, though I’ll happily rest in one if you leave the door open—it’s nice to have a little den of my own. I’ve tested out the couch and the bed (so comfy!), but when told to get down, I curl up on my pillow without complaint. I live with three foster siblings. They weren’t too sure about me at first, but I’ve grown on them—especially my foster brother! I play nicely and respect their space. I’d do well with another dog in the home, but I’d also be just as happy as your one-and-only, soaking up all the love and attention. I’ve also met children as young as 2 and did great with them. And when I visited the vet, the staff couldn’t stop talking about what a sweet boy I am. So if you’re looking for a daily dose of chocolate that’s 100% calorie-free, come meet me—I’d love to be your new best friend! Love, |
