Hi, I’m Statler! I’m a happy 5½-year-old dog currently working on shedding a few extra pounds. I came from a loving family, but unfortunately, they had to move to a place where dogs aren’t allowed. I am a friendly and gentle guy who absolutely loves people, belly rubs, and having my ears scratched. I get along great with other dogs and even cats—my foster dad’s grand-kitty and I are buddies! I enjoy playing with soft toys (don’t worry, I don’t tear them up) and love romping around the yard with my dog friend at my foster home. Fun fact: I prefer eating while lying down. What can I say? It’s just more relaxing! I know my basic commands like sit, lay down, off, and shake, and I’m house trained. I'm still practicing "stay," and I can get a little excited on the leash, but I’m working on it. Also, count me in for car rides! Because I was given generous portions before, I’ll need some help on my weight loss journey, but don’t worry—I’m still full of energy and love to zoom around when I play.
