My name is Bella & I’m a 1.5 year old Lab Mix, who was found in a yard in Southern Illinois in February, tied up in 6” of ice & snow with no shelter, no water, & no food. 

Animal Control rescued me & then I spent 151 days in a kennel with them before the folks at L.E.A.R.N. took me in. 

Here’s some fun facts about me:
I’m what my foster parents call a “Pocket Lab!” I currently weigh 37.2 lbs, but should max out at 40 lbs
I am a Lab Mix, but if it weren’t for my small size & my ears looking a little antenna like, you’d never know! I totally act like a Lab!
I LOVE being around people, but when I need to nap, I’m fine going into another room, in a cozy spot, to catch some zzz’s!
I am VERY affectionate! I love to give kisses & hugs! If you let me, I’ll snuggle in your lap!
I think I’m potty trained! Foster p’s have these goofy bells on their patio door that apparently I’m supposed to ring when I have to go potty, but I just go there, stand, & stare out the window when I have to go potty!
I LOVE being on furniture! Foster p’s tried to keep me off, but they felt bad for me & are incredibly soft, so here I am, chillaxing on their couches!
I’m understandably not fond of the crate. Foster p’s say it’s for my own safety, but I bark, cry, & whine when they first put me in there. However, I do settle down & go to sleep.
I love squeaky toys! I love squeaking them & tossing one up in the air & catching it over & over and I do love a good Nylabone too!
I love going for walks & do well wearing my cute pink harness!
I have this funny quirk of chasing flies & moths in the yard! It makes my foster p’s laugh watching me run, jump, & chase to catch the pesky bugs in their yard!
Speaking of their yard, I enjoy playing catch with a tennis ball! I’m a really fast runner!
I like meeting the other dogs in the neighborhood on walks. I think I would enjoy a sibling or be ok as an only child.
Finally, when I’m content, I let out funny, deep, loud, sighs.
I can’t wait to meet my fur-ever family! I think I be great with kids, because they’d be just my size! I think I’d make a good running or jogging partner. I haven’t seen a pool or lake yet, so we don’t know how I’d do. I don’t require a fenced in yard, since my foster p’s don’t have one, but I need to be on a strong tie-out cable & supervised!
