Well, here I am………….My name is Junior, (foster dad calls me “Junior Boy”), and I just received the best belated birthday present. I was 12 years old on July 6 and it started out as a sad birthday when my elderly owner took me to this place where there are lots of homeless dogs and dropped me off because she couldn’t move around good enough to care for me. This shelter was a nice enough place but lots of barking and crying dogs who missed their families too. You see, I grew up in a home where my human was always near and now it felt like I was all alone. But then one day soon a nice lady from this rescue called LEARN stopped by to look at me. She played with me, loved me, walked me and got to know me. Just a few days later I heard them talking about giving me a bath to “spruce me up” and then I went for a long car ride with another lady from LEARN. I like car rides, I just lay back, sleep and enjoy the ride. After my ride we stopped at a home near lots of cornfields and farms and I met my foster mom and dad. Gee I’ve only been with them for a few days and I already love them. I have two older labbie foster sisters who are pretty cool. They keep telling me how handsome I am, well behaved and obedient. I like their big back yard where I can watch the squirrels and rabbits. Since I’m not a big fan of kennels, foster mom let me sleep in bed with her last night and it was great. I weigh 72# and am not a big eater, nor do I gulp my food down. I sit, stay, lay, come and just all around a good boy. (I’m only going by what I hear people say.) Even though I love it with my foster family, I would love to find a very own home of my own to live out my life. I promise to give lots of love and affection. I also enjoy short walks because I’m a little stiff because of my age.
