Update:   1/22/21

I’m ready for adoption! My foster mom & dad are always calling  me “sweetie” but I know my name is Lacy!  I’m very good in the house.  I have never had an accident or tried to climb on furniture.  I did try counter surfing a few times but I didn’t take anything.  I guess I’m not suppose to do that!  Whenever my foster parents say “Lacy, no”, I stop whatever I’m doing.  I’m still a little afraid of new things but I’m getting better.  New people can be scary but I warm up to them fast if they wait for me to come to them.  I’m very good at the vet and I even went to the pet food store to help buy my food.  The people were very nice to me and I even got to pick out a treat!  I’m learning how to go for walks.  It can be a little scary sometimes but I’m getting better.  I don’t like being in a crate so my foster mom & dad let me sleep on a dog bed in their bedroom at night.  I sleep next to my foster sister who’s a labby too!  I don’t even have to be in a crate when they leave for a few hours or take me in the car.  That’s all for now.  Looks like they want to put my harness on so they can take me to a new pet food store!

Update: 1/7/21

Lacy was spayed on Monday and is doing well. Now she’s on a leash for 2 weeks until she heals.  She’s a sweetheart ❤️  So far Lacy is more on the calm side for a young dog. She settles nicely in the house. She would love to be with a family that will cuddle with her and is home most of the time, at least for now. She doesn’t like being in a crate when no one is home. Since she does well through the night in our bedroom without the crate, we will try not crating her when we’re gone for a short time.

*** If you are interested in Lacy and have already been approved to adopt,  please send an email to Lab Match ***

12/30/20 Update:

Lacy will be ready to start meeting families after she is spayed on January 4th.  She is currently being treated for lymes and anaplasmosis with 30 days of antibiotics.

We are seeing more of her personality as she becomes comfortable with us. She’s a sweet girl who’s affectionate and likes being close to us. Everything is a new experience for her.

She gets along well with our dog and likes to play and chase the ball with her.  We’re working on basic commands and leash manners. Going for a walk is something new to her. Cars and noises can be a little scary.

Lacy doesn’t really like the crate but she did well in it at night if it was in the bedroom with us. Now we don’t use the crate at night. She sleeps on her dog bed in our bedroom with the door closed. She’s been very good!

She’s getting use to meeting new people. A little cautious at first but she warms up to them quickly.

Lacy will do well with a family who will be patient and help her become more confident.

12/5/20 ON HOLD ~ Lacy came in to rescue today with 7 other dogs from a hoarding situation in Marathon County. These dogs will be in foster care longer than normal as we get them fully vetted, and work with them to overcome their fears, and learn to become dogs.

*** Since we know nothing about Lacy other than she will be here longer than usual, we will not be taking notes of interest for her until she is off hold and closer to being ready to start meeting families.  If you are not already approved to adopt you will want to apply to become approved so that you may be eligible to be considered when she is ready.
