Hi LEARN fans!  I’m Jack and I was surrendered to LEARN because my prior family had some lifestyle changes.  I am 5 years old with the energy of a puppy.  I love to play especially with tennis balls.  Tennis balls are my favorite thing on the entire planet.  I even found two tennis balls my Foster Mom’s dogs lost.  Sniffed them right out, FM said it’s like I have tennis ball radar!!  I do like other toys too, but tennis balls will get my full and undivided attention.

Full disclosure; I am not fond of toddlers crawling on me but I did warn appropriately by growling and letting them know I wasn’t happy (you know . . . lifestyle changes) so I probably would be happier with a family that didn’t have younger children.  I do love to play though so if you have older children that can keep up with me all the better.  If you have a baseball player in your family that would like to practice by throwing me a tennis ball OH MY DOG that would be the absolute best thing ever.

I am crate trained but since coming to live with my foster family I haven’t needed to go in one.  My FM said it’s time for a little freedom since my basement dwelling days.  She bought me a brand new collar, put my LEARN tag on it and tossed my old collar in the trash.  New collar, new beginnings!

I get to go to work with my FM every day and everyone that comes in plays with me.  I really like to take my stuffed gnome and run laps.  I have so much fun all day long and then when I get home at night I’m so tired I sleep like a baby.  FM said we are going to try doggie day care on Monday – super excited!!

FM notes:  Jack is a fabulous dog and will be a wonderful addition to his forever family.  He is well behaved.  He knows; sit, down, off, stay (needs work), drop it, leave it, bring here and probably more I haven’t discovered yet.  He likes belly rubs. He walks ok on leash but pulls a bit and may be best to use a harness.  Jack is great in the car; jumps right in and sits or lays quietly.  He likes his food and will pointedly tell you it is breakfast or dinner time, but doesn’t seem to be as food focused as some labs.  He greets people with enthusiasm and tail wags, sometimes he will jump up but responds well to “off”.  So far there hasn’t been any indication he counter surfs.  His paperwork indicated he is fearful of loud noises and barks excessively.  I can’t attest to loud noises but have not found that he barks excessively.  He gives a warning bark when someone comes to the door but quiets quickly.  Jack likes to do his business only on grass, kind of quirky but makes picking up the puppy piles easy.

Overall he is a wonderful dog and deserves a great life!
