10/11/2020, Just wanted to let you know that I have found my foster to adopt home!!! But as you can imagine that my treatment will be expensive.  If you would like to donate towards my medical needs L.E.A.R.N. would really appreciate it.

9/29/2020, Hi, they call me Charlie, the shelter says that I am about 3 years old but I act more like a 1 year old.  I don't have alot of manners yet but I am working on them.  I am very handsome and have an awesome temperament, I do great with other dogs and am learning to be respectful of cats.  I am a special boy that needs a special home.

The main thing you need to know about me is that I am heartworm positive.  The treatment plan is that I have to be on medication for a month, then wait a month and then I will have 3 shots to get rid of them over the next month.  During this time I need to be kept calm (no running/excitement, slow walks only) and especially when I have my shots I will need to be crated alot. Once the treatment is done I will have a normal life span and can run and play as much as I want, I am just not allowed right now to keep me safe.

Because I am going to take some time and L.E.A.R.N. doesn't want me to get too comfy in my foster home, they are looking for someone willing to foster to adopt me.  This means that I would come live with you during my treatment, L.E.A.R.N. pays all my vet bills but when everything is said and done, you get to adopt me!

Due to Wisconsin laws we are not able to bring Charlie into the state for treatment. He must remain in Illinois until his treatment is completed. So if you have a calm, quiet home that he can spend the next several months of treatment in, are willing to take on his needs/restrictions for that time and live in Illinois, please reach out to learndogs@labadoption.org and let us know you are interested.
