05/03/2020 Jordy has been with us a week and her personality grows day by day. She is still just a super sweet little girl! Jordy has a little squeak or whistle. It's a bit of a nervous tic. Initially it happened when she ate, carried a toy, or walked around the house. There is less and less of it as she gets more comfortable in the house. We've been for one car ride and she did really well. Jordy protests her kennel with a little squeaking but then goes to sleep within a couple minutes. We have done a number of walks, just around the block. She was fine if one of the other dogs was with her. She did have a scare when we came around a corner and a dog charged the fence line aggressively barking. Jordy hightailed it the other direction and wanted nothing to do with that chaos! She did recover quickly and we continued on with our walk and no further issues. We did try a walk without the other dogs to work on some leash walking. Jordy wasn't too excited about it. We got about halfway down the block and she turned around and headed "home". While she has only been here a week, she knew which house was hers and cut across the yard to get there quicker. We will continue to expose her to new things to help build her confidence. I see a trip to Home Depot in her future! Jordy is a bit of a jumper. It's more that she wants to get to you so she can be pet and loved, not an aggressive in your face jump. As you might imagine, it's worse when we come home or she is first let out of her kennel in the morning. She has done really well with being corrected and is slowly learning she gets ignored if she jumps and gets pet if she sits. She has also tried the old paws on the counter and table trick. She doesn't really seem to be surfing for food, just wants to know what is there. She is also responded correctly to that correction and we are seeing less of the behavior. Once Jordy is comfortable in her environment, she is very curious and somewhat fearless. She engages the other dogs, climbs under the deck, jumps into your seat when you get up - although the rocking patio chair threw her for a loop today. May take her a bit to test that one again. We are still working on potty training with Jordy. She is also prone to a little excitement/submissive peeing. She no longer does it with us but if a friend drops by, she will piddle a little. Jordy is pretty mellow for a puppy. No issues with chewing. She plays a little bit, takes it all in, and then spends quite a bit of time napping. Huge fan of the Packer blankie on the couch! She loves to be pet and cuddled but isn't pushy about getting attention. Jordy will need a home that is committed to furthering her training. She loves treats and has been responsive and very easy to train!
04/28/2020 Jordyn, who we call Jordy, is as sweet as can be. She has only been here a couple days and her personality is still coming out. So far she is a cuddler and likes to be close to her people. She is curious and athletic, climbing across the constructions supplies for the backyard project. Jordy likes to play with the stuffed animals around the house and has just started trying to engage our 6 1/2 year old lab for play time. She is food motivated and I suspect would be happy to retrieve it from wherever it may be...more shall be revealed on this front!!! She walks nicely on a leash but definitely needs leash training. Stay tuned for more updates and photos!
