1/14/20 Update:

I'm still here!!!   I know so many "basic" commands at this point that I am going to start learning some assistance commands like how to turn light switches on and off, open and close doors and more!

I am so sweet and happy all the time and don't really have anything I need to work on other than my recall when I see something fuzzy like a squirrel, rabbit, or other critter that may be running by.  But I always come back; I just need to chase them a bit!

I need to have someone that will challenge me each day, I won't be happy as a dog who just lays around all day and only gets a walk or a trip to the dog park as my fun.  I need to use my mind and think!

If you are interested in meeting me or learning more about me, please let L.E.A.R.N. know because I really want a home of my own.

12/17 Update:

Hi Everyone!  I had my 2nd surgery last week to remove the last of the lumps and bumps on my tummy.  Everything came back clear of cancer or anything scary so I am ready to find my forever home!!!!!

I have all the instincts of a great hunter.  Could you train me how to do it?   I think that I would do best with a hunting family or someone who can give me a job to do.

I am very smart; I know lots of commands (Spin, Twirl, Sit, Down, Come, Off, Leave It, Under, Place and that is just the beginning!  I love to learn (because of the food) and would love to keep learning.   Maybe rally or agility would be fun???

I have all the energy to go, go, go, but I also will settle and give you a gentle kiss and lie down for a belly rub.

Please let L.E.A.R.N. know if you would be interested in meeting me.  I would love to have a forever home for the Holidays/New Year.

11/20 Update:

Good News!  The tests came back, and they are just lumps and bumps!!! (No Cancer)  So I am going to focus on healing from this surgery so that I can have the next surgery in a few weeks.  Then I will be ready for my forever home, maybe even before Christmas!  Let L.E.A.R.N. know if you would like to meet me.

11/15 Update:

Well things didn't go quite as planned.  When I went in for my spay yesterday we knew that there were a couple lumps and bumps that the vet was planning to remove at the same time.  Turns out I have several more than we originally thought.  This means that I have a much bigger incision (just about my whole belly!) and that I will need at least one, if not two, more surgeries to remove the rest.  The vet sent the ones he removed out to be tested.  So paws crossed it isn't anything more, but if it is, L.E.A.R.N. will help me through it.  But we are hoping these are just bumps, and we will get the rest removed in a few weeks after I heal from this first surgery.

So while I am not ready to be adopted at this time I would still love for you to consider me in the future.  I am a young happy girls that gives the BEST soft kisses.

OH! I went to something called a dog fair last weekend, and I met adults, kids of all ages and lots of dogs, and I did great with all of them! (I am a little timid of the really big dogs at first, but I warm up.)  I would love to find a family where I can run and play with you, kids or other dogs.  I have lots of energy, but I also love my cuddle time with you.

Please let LabMatch know if you are interested in knowing more about me, or even if you would like to meet me when I am ready for adoption.  I will keep you posted on what they say and when I will be ready to meet families.

I have been here over a week now, and I have a little bit to report. I am part of the Retrievers and Redemption program.  I would make a GREAT hunting dog!  I have a big prey drive (so no small animals in my forever home).  I scaled a 6 foot fence to go after the animal that was going by.  So now I have a long lead when I am outside in the yard until I learn that I can't just go after everything I see.

Because my nose is on constant overdrive I am quite the puller on the leash, but we are working on that.  I am using a harness now which helps some, but I have a ways to go.

Another thing we learned is that I do not like the crate.  That is a scary place where I get too stressed out in.  So we are working on making it a happy place that means good things, but right now I have free roam when left alone as long as everything is picked up.

I go to the Vet to be spayed on 11/14.  After that I will be starting to look for my forever home. If you are looking for a girl like me, please fill out an application or let labmatch know that you are interested in meeting me.

Hello, My name is Ginger, and I am the mama to the pups.  I was very skinny and pregnant when I was dropped at a farm in Texas.  The kind people took me in, got me on the right track and helped me when I had all my babies.  Then I took a long trip to Wisconsin.  They think I am about 10 months old. So I am still just a pup myself.  I am so new that people need to get to know me better.  After I am spayed I will be needing a forever home.  So keep watching for updates.
