ADOPTION PENDING

10/27/19  Mocha here! I wanted to let you all know how I’m doing.

I’ve been living with my foster family for 2 weeks now. I guess, considering the horrible conditions I came from, I’m doing super good. I LOVE living inside a cozy warm house. I’m doing really good with potty training and am already allowed to sleep in my foster families bedroom at night!

Being so young, I’m still a chewer. Foster mom wasn’t so thrilled when she came home from work one day and her kitchen chair cushion was exploded all over the floor. She said she didn’t want to have to crate me, because of how I lived in the past, but I’ve decided the crate isn’t so bad, and I’ll go in it on my own now and lie down.

I’ve learned how to sit already! And we are working on down. I LOVE treats, so learning is fun!! My yard is not fenced, but I don’t take off. Foster mom says she doesn’t FULLY trust me yet.  So for now, I drag a 30 foot lead around while I’m outside. Heck…who am I kidding? . . .I WANT to go back into the warm house with a cozy bed…

Foster mom says that I’m going to be spayed on November 5th, so no more puppies for me! Phew! Godiva is a lot of work, I’ll be glad when I’m all done taking care of her… :) I just want to be a dog!

I’m very curious about the cat. I used to chase her every time I saw her, but now if foster mom sees me perk up when I see the cat, she says “leave it,” and I’m learning to leave the cat alone.

I am still afraid of new people and sudden movements, but I’m ok with foster family reaching to pet me. I LOVE my neck rubbed and will lean into it. I follow my 4 legged foster siblings around and watch them closely to see how they are going to react to things. Because of all that, foster mom thinks that I would do best in a quiet home without young children, another confident dog to continue to show me the ropes and very patient humans who understand it’s gonna take me time to warm up to you. I still have a lot to learn about trusting humans... but I'm on the right track!
