Meet Max!!
Max is a 1yr old black Lab/German Shepherd mix and weighs about 80lbs.  He loves to play fetch in the back yard with his favorite tennis ball!  He is a great dog who is waiting to find his forever home,  He will be the perfect companion!!

He loves to snuggle and is very sweet and affectionate.  Knows his name, is completely house broken, and listens to commands so well (although some leash manners need to be taught)!  He absolutely loves going to dog parks and seeing all the other dogs (is great off leash, especially if you have his favorite tennis ball)!  He gets along great with other dogs, and they seem to help him run off his young energy!!

Max would benefit from a home with no small children (i.e middle school age and older).  Max is sometimes a little clumsy and doesn’t really realize how big he is.  This might prove to be dangerous for little children.  Also, in one of his previous homes, small children were mean to him, and he has not quite fully recovered from that.  He has some issues with the vacuum, broom, and loud noises (such as gun shots – not a hunting dog).  Although he has some fears that he needs help with, he has not been destructive; he just needs someone to dedicate some time to him.

Overall Max just needs to be loved.  He has made great strides since being with us and would make even bigger strides if he was in a home where he could be the main focus.  He loves to play tug-of-war, fetch, and is very food motivated.  A feeding schedule will need to be put into place (normally once in the morning and once when we get home from work).  He is not crate-trained ... we give him free reign of the home when we are not home.  He has never created any problems when in our home and has never been destructive when left out.  He is a major diamond in the ruff ;) and needs the chance to be part of a loving family.
