Livi is all done with her mothering duties and
is ready to go to her forever home. It would be best if she goes to a home without young children, as she does startle at quick movements. It takes her some time to adjust to new people, but when she does, she is a cuddle, love bug, and becomes your shadow. Because of that, her forever home is going to need to be willing to be patient with her, and give her the time to become comfortable.
She is completely potty trained and has been able to have free roam of the house when we are gone. She sleeps at the side of the bed on her dog bed, but would be more than happy to join you on the bed, if you'll let her.
She stays close to my side when we are outside, and loves to run around with a toy or two in her mouth....She's not to keen on giving them up though. :)
She is in the process of being treated for Lyme's disease, but I see no reason that her forever home can not continue the treatment. I think at this point it would be best to get her in her forever home, so she can start the new adjustment period and continue the good life she has come to know.

The good news:
Miss Livi is indeed gonna have pups....Doc counts 6 for sure. Her due date is anyone's guess, could be anywhere from 7 to 14 days. It's very hard to tell with dogs, unless you know when they were bred.
She is heartworm negative which is GREAT news!
Now the not so good news:
She tested positive for Lyme and Anaplasmosis exposure. She is not showing any symptoms of either, so treating her after she whelps MAY be ok...The problem, is that Anaplasmosis can cause a low platelet count, and that could be very dangerous for her when giving birth. The Vet is sending her blood out to have her platelet count checked, and depending on the outcome, we will work with him for the best possible,
safe course of treatment for her.
She more than likely has whipworm, as most, if not all, of the dogs from this "breeder" have had it. Will find that out tomorrow.
On a lighter note, she is a total love....It only took one day to get her to go in and out of the house to go potty. She seeks out human touch and soaks up neck rubs. Her short little tail just wags and wags...She is already becoming a velcro dog. Wherever we are, she likes to lie down next to us. She will spook a bit at sudden movements but recovers pretty quickly. Her whelping pen is her safe zone; if she gets scared she scurries into it but will come back out with gentle coaxing. She's been sleeping in it every night quietly.
One thing we have discovered is that she doesn't like walking on our tile floor. She will move really quickly from one rug to another when going to the door to go outside.
For the most part, she's been pretty low key which in her condition isn't surprising.
Please say a prayer for our sweet Livi for a safe delivery, and if you can find it in your heart and are able, please donate to her ongoing treatment and the treatment of her pups.
