UPDATE ON SADIE…

Hello everyone!! It has been over a month since I was put on the website…so I thought that I would give you an update on what I have been up to.

Some great news to start off…Back in 2012, I was a porker weighing in at 81 pounds, and now I am a slim 67.6 pounds!! The change to better quality food really does help!! Speaking of change in food, the Vet has put me on a special diet to help with my kidneys.  I have had elevated kidney numbers for 3 weeks.  So, now the Vet has me on food and blood pressure meds to help those numbers go down.  Good news!  The last time I was at the Vet's, the numbers were down!! Hooray for me!!!

Like many Labs, I have chronic ear issues. In my past, I had surgeries to try to correct them but with no success. So I need regular ear cleaning . . . maybe my problem is allergies. Anyway, for now I am on ear meds to alleviate that problem.

The last medicine I take is for my incontinence. Two weeks after my foster parents had me, I was “leaking” on the floor. They took me to the Vet where they did blood  which was when my higher kidney numbers were discovered. The Vet gave me some pills for my incontinence.  I have had no leaking since I started taking the pills.

Taking pills is very easy.  I take them with my food, and I don't even know they are in there!!

When you meet me, you would not know that any of the above medical issues were present. I am a very happy dog and am looking for a family who will love me for who I am. Do not let my age scare you away, because I still have some “get-up-n-go” in me.

If you are looking for a Velcro dog, look no further. I would rather be around people than other dogs.  I am constantly under your foot when you try to walk.  If you are cooking, I am right there with you.  If you turn too quickly, watch out, because I may be right under you.

If after reading this update you would still like to meet me and you are on our approved list, please give LEARN a call or email: labmatch@labadoption.org and let them know you would like to setup a meet.

Thank you for considering me.

Sadie

Hello Labbie Lovers!!

My name is Sadie, and I am a “sweet” 10-year-old chocolate Lab. I am an owner-surrender. After losing my canine friend, my family could not tolerate my anxious energy.  So, they kept me separate from them.

In my foster home, I live with another Lab, who I am good with, and this thing called a cat.  I have chased the cat apparently too many times.  So now he resides in the basement (on his own accord). If there is a cat who doesn't mind being chased, this might not be an issue. I also live with two human children (18 months and 3 years old). I let these little ones crawl all over me, and I couldn't care less. The “dark” part of me is that I like to pick up the little ones' toys and chew them if they are left on the floor.

I am “rich” with love, and you can call me “comfort food” because I will be with you all the time. Heck, you can even call me “addicting!!” My weight is a bit “fattening”, so I could stand to lose about 10 pounds. I ride great in the car, walk super nice on a leash, and know some basic commands.

You can say that I am a “chip” of the old block, and I will even give you a “kiss.”

If you would like to more information about me, please make sure you are on our approved adopters list by filling out our on-line adoption application on this website.
