PENDING ADOPTION!

***Marley Update***

I've lost a little weight.  My foster mom said my Vet records from a year ago said I weighed in at a beefy 105.  When she picked me up she thought I was around 95, and at my Vet trip on Thursday I was at 92.  We think my ideal weight is around 80.  Otherwise, I got a clean bill of health at the Vet!

My foster mom initially moved me to a higher quality food, but then the Vet switched me to a weight management food within the same brand.  We go for long walks each day, and my foster brother and I like to party in the backyard which helps burn calories.  My forever home will have to be committed to continuing a diet of  higher quality of food and lots of exercise.

My foster brother and I hang out in the house while mom is at work, and we are both very well behaved while she is gone.  I have been invited onto the furniture but have declined.  My foster mom said she won't teach me to go on the furniture in case my forever home doesn't allow it.  I tend to hang out at my foster mom's feet and enjoy resting my chin on her lap.  I won't go down the stairs to the basement, and my foster home is a ranch style.  So my foster mom isn't sure if I would go up stairs in a tri-level home.

I like to be the center of attention.  I try to edge out my foster brother for attention.  My foster mom says she has two hands, one for each dog, but I prefer both hands!

***********

Hi there, Marley here! I'm a 4 year old, pure bred chocolate Lab, fur ball of love, new to L.E.A.R.N.

My family surrendered me when they moved and didn't take me with them.  The L.E.A.R.N. volunteer who took care of me until I went to my foster mom said she has never heard a dog cry the way I did when my family left.

My family was Polish.  So my commands are in Polish and English.  My foster mom is also Polish, but the only words she knows in Polish are associated with food.  Speaking of food...I really like it.  My foster mom says I like it a little too much.  She changed my food and said I will be added to her daily workout regiment.  Our first walk was a really long forty five minutes.  She only let me stop a couple times for breaks.

I have a foster brother named Rook.  He is also a chocolate Lab, but he is younger with a little more energy.  We get along really well, playing on occasion, but I'm still feeling him out.  My foster mom put me to the test within the first 24 hours with her and had a party.  I thought that was pretty nice of her to throw me a party so soon after I got there.  She said the party was pre-planned for Memorial Day...There were about 20 people, two of whom were kids plus Rook's girlfriend, a black Lab.  They pretty much ran circles around me.  That's ok, I was busy working the crowd, but my foster mom kept reminding them not to give me any table scraps...She's taking this food lifestyle change a little too seriously.

I'm still new to my foster home so my mom doesn't have a full update but says I'm pretty darn sweet.  I follow her just about everywhere she goes, I love attention and being pet (Marley reminder, I also love to eat.)  I know most basic commands like sit, down, and wait, and I walk nicely on a leash.  My paperwork says loud noises like fireworks bother me but so far so good!  I might be a tad jealous when my foster mom gives too much attention to my foster brother.  I bark a little and try to work my way into the equation.  My foster mom says it will work itself out over time.
