Hello everyone, my name is Dekoy or affectionately called “Buddy” or “Big Guy”.  I am a black lab and black & tan coonhound mix.  Everyone that has seen me, says I am very handsome.  Along with my good looks, I behave pretty well too.  I walk well on the leash as well.

I would love to be someone’s walking or running buddy.  Don’t let my age fool you.  I am almost 6 but have energy like a 2 year old.  I am housebroken and crate trained.  My new foster family has taught me to sit & wait for my food.  I have two 4 legged foster sisters that I get along with.  We can all sit together & get our treats.  I think my foster mom just likes having our tails go across the floor, to do her sweeping. LOL!

I stay in the crate during the day.  I have just been promoted to sleeping at night on the dog bed in my foster parent’s room.  I have been very good about sleeping all night.  Well thanks for checking me out.  If you are looking for someone to give lots of labby kisses to, throw the ball and go for walks, well I’m your guy.

My name is Abbey, and I am a 12 year old owner surrender. It has taken me a little while to come out of my shell and be the very sweet, happy, bouncy little girl that I really am. When I came to LEARN I had a very bad ear infection and I even had to have 5 teeth pulled. Boy did that make me feel better! One of my foster brothers, Pete, doesn’t wrinkle his nose and turn his head anymore when I go say hi to him.

My eye-sight and hearing aren’t what they used to be so you have to speak up a little bit. I also have to be careful going up and down the stairs, so please be patient with me. I love to be outside and ride very well in the car. My foster Mom has only heard me bark once and that was at another dog at the vets office, but I was just saying hi.

Being petted and scratched all over is something I have learned is really nice, and now I push my way in with my bigger foster brothers to make sure I get my share of attention.

All I am looking for is a family that wants someone to love me and talk to because I excell at those qualities. I know someone is out there just for me, so give LEARN a call and maybe you can get some sweet chocolate kisses for Valentine’s Day.

I’m a 2 year old yellow/red (fox red) lab that came to LEARN as a stray, which I did not like being alone at all, so I am very grateful that I have a foster home to stay with.  I have 2 foster brothers and 2 foster cats that I live with; I get along with them all.  I am housebroken and allowed to have the run of the house because I am so good.  I walk nice on the leash and love going for car rides; in fact, you can just drive me around all day and I will be very happy.  I know my basic commands and listen very well.  My foster mom doesn’t understand how I became a stray because I am so good.  I love men, women, and children and more than anything I just want a family of my own.

Hi Perspective Labby lovers!   I would be Grover (Or as my Foster dad calls me Wiggles),  this is probably due to the fact that my rear end never stops waggin’ and it looks like I am wigglin’ but darn it,  I just love people!!  I am a real sweetheart of a Labby just waiting for my forever home, and I am 8 years young.  I think I have managed to steal the hearts of of my foster parents. I have settled in as a family member since I came to live in my foster digs. I am fully potty trained, and even signal my foster mom and dad every time I need to use the facilities.

I eat well, and my foster dad says he has never seen a Labby that does not live for eating like I do. I eat all my breakfasts and dinners, I do not require much.  I am in great shape and have lots of muscle.  One nice thing is I do not use that muscle to be the ”bull in a china shop”, I mind my manners very well.  I am not a counter surfer and I do not get into the garbage, which has really impressed the foster rents. This past weekend my 76 year old foster gramma came to stay with me and she took me for walks and said I was a such good dog because I did not pull on the leash when I was being walked.  Normally my foster parents let me outside (off leash I might add) and I stay right close and I have no desire to stray away. They keep telling people how trust worthy I am, why not, I know where I have it good!!!  (This Labby didn’t fall off the turnip truck after all)

I am a very devoted labby, I adjusted very well to my surroundings and when it is time to settle down, I am all about it. My foster parents sit down for a night of relaxing and I willing to do the same. I am a real cuddler for sure. Please give me a good hard look, I am probably the labby that would make your house a real home.

Tanner is a sweet, fun loving big boy looking to be loved! For a 9 month pup, who was an outside dog, he settles in very well at home. Tanner has good recall and knows very basic commands. He seems eager to learn and please and doing well on learning household rules. Tanner is good with kids, cats and other dogs with possibly a touch of Golden Retriever in him.

Let me introduce myself.  My name is Abby.  I just turned 7 years old.  I am friendly to all, love people and dogs and cats.  I love to fetch and will roll the ball to you with my nose or my foot, as well as put it in your hand if you like.  I am crate trained, housebroken and ride well in the car.  I sleep through the night and can be trusted in the house while you are gone.

I came from a single adult home.  My previous owner had a change in living arrangements, and I was no longer able to stay with her.  I was sad, but I am having fun in my foster home, and have adjusted quickly to this change in my life.

My name is Kate!!! I came to be a LEARN dog because I was found as a stray.  Since I had no name and am as cute a button, my foster mommy calls me Kate (or Katie).  She says I’m as pretty as the Princess Kate!  I appear to be approximately 1 year old, a purebred and am extremely shy/skittish.  Any loud noise or fast movement will send me scampering to any one of my safe zones, of which my favorite is my crate. 

My foster family lives on a farm and amazingly I do absolutely wonderful off leash, not going far outside the 30’ radius of my foster mom’s lead.  We go on multiple daily off-leash walks during which I prefer to stay right next to my foster mom, but will occasionally venture out to explore with the other dogs. I don’t mind the lawn tractor, ATV, or the vacuum, but look out if the ice-maker should drop a load of ice in the freezer.

I love the game of fetch and am slowly learning that if I drop it at my foster mom’s feet she will throw it again. Love that! I love to ride in the car, absolutely LOVE to swim, but I still have to be fed in a closed room all by myself before I will eat.

I live with two older dogs and a puppy and am very good with all them as well as any new dogs I meet.  The farm has three cats and the neighbor’s farm has 6 cats. I have never taken any interest in any of them, the chickens, or the horses.  But wow! – those neighbor bunnies are fun to chase. But my mommy said I can’t do that anymore and I’m trying really hard not to. I am hoping for a Forever Home that will help me continue to learn that the world isn’t a scary place, that enjoys some daily exercise, but not too much because I do love my naps!

Oh yeah, forgot to tell you that I am on the small side, only about 60#.

Introducing Samantha – a 7 y.o. owner surrender; she was originally adopted out from us back in 2007, but then her Dad died in 2009 followed by her Mom’s increasing medical issues brought her back to us.

We don’t know how she is with cats now (she was with cats in her first foster home 4 years ago and ignored them) but she interacts well with other dogs when she is off-leash, even when meeting them for the first time. She knows to let her crotchety foster brother alone and is slowly learning to actually play with her foster sister; we’ve gotten some play bows and a bit of subtle romping so far. She is house and crate trained.

Samantha knows sit and stay very well, walks decent on leash – there is tension on the leash but by no means is she trying to walk you – she likes to weave back and forth sniffing. She has been tested a number of times for off-leash work and has done well, but this is also when she has been with her foster fur-siblings. Her recall is decent and she knows ‘down’ and ‘off’ but needs to work on it. She loves to swim – not necessarily play fetch in the water but to just swim. All experiments in off-leash walking went very well. She does enjoy playing fetch and will keep going and going. Surprisingly, Samantha is careful where she walks – she makes sure she doesn’t step into “land-mines” at home or at the park, even during playtime.

One problem that we are working on is that she is leash defensive when meeting new dogs – after a couple of minutes of practice walk-bys then walking side-by-side with new dogs she is then ok. UPDATE: Her leash defensiveness is getting better and better. At another foster home, she had no issues meeting the resident dogs while she was on leash, nor at the park.

Samantha has already graduated to sleep time freedom, but she is crated when I leave; this is for her stressed out foster brother’s sake. She is good with kids of all ages, will follow you around the house, and just wants love in return. She weighs in at 77#, a tall and lanky gal – not an ounce of fat on her.

Howdy everyone….Jake here.  I’m a LEARN return because my family’s living conditions changed and they had to surrender me back to LEARN. 

I’m 10 years old but think and act like I’m about 5 or 6.  I’m in great shape and quite handsome as you can see by my pictures.  I’m on the smaller side (about 60 pounds) and not hyper at all.   I love to play around with my foster brother so a home with another furry child would be great.  I’m a really nice guy who gets along with everyone, adults, kids, dogs, cats.  

I like to fetch and walk around with tennis balls in my mouth.  Give me a belly rub and I’m as happy as can be.  I’ll give you a signal by barking if I have to go out because I will not do it in the house.  I like walks and love to ride in the car.  I would fit in good with a family that isn’t real active or with a senior citizen.  So, if you’re looking for an older gentleman, you can stop right here because I’m your guy.

HI Everyone

Kramer here…I wanted to let everyone know-I went to my foster parents Dad & Moms place for ThanksGiving, there were a ton of people there, and they were all so happy to meet me! I was even given a bag of HUGE doggie biscuits by my foster mom’s Aunt who thought I was pretty handsome! I am settling in to at my foster parents house, and kinda’ coming out of my shell. I am learning that isn’t always necessary to bark for . My Foster Dad takes me on morning walks and I am learning all those strange things blowing across the road and fields are ok…I am going out in the fenced yard by myself (mom is always watching), that was a huge task-but accomplished-the dogs in the house have helped. If I do get startled though, I fall into a lump of mushy puppy, my confidence isn’t that great sometimes, but I don’t have a mean bone in my body – my mom says its ok.  The kids in the house are always messing around and it doesn’t bother me in the least. And when Mom is making food I don’t even bother her, like my foster brother & sister do. I am getting better with the toys, and I am starting to play more with them, but I think Mom’s gonna’ classify me as a great couch buddy, I would just love too hang with my new family.

Hi Everyone

Kramer here, just wanted to introduce myself. My foster parents say I am about 2-3 years old, handsome yellow male with beautiful brown eye’s, I was a stray and was in one of those shelters for awhile before LEARN came to rescue me.

I am a big boy, abit skinny at the moment, but my foster Mom is feeding me 2 times a day to get my body looking fine. My foster Mom says I am a snuggle bug, and I could do that ALL day long. I dont know to much about those funny sqeeky things and those things they call tennis balls-I dont remember ever seeing them before. Oh yes, they are called toys, I dont really know what to do with them. I might play with them for a short time, and my foster Mom laughs at me cause I am so goofy trying to figure out what to do. But really I don’t have much interest with them, I just want to be with my foster family.

I do like to take walks, all new too for me-but I  am getting to like it. I like the dogs in my foster home. There’s a couple teenagers in the house too, they’re cool. Ive learned how to use the doggie door all by myself, and I dont mind the crate, they put me in when they run out for a few hours. I might like to go to a obedience class to to learn a few things.
