Benji entered our home and our
hearts in December of 1999 at the age of 9 ½. We don't know anything about
his younger years, but we imagine him as a playful pup with a lot of spunk
in his younger life. Benji was such a sweet, gentle, and loving dog and
our very best friend for almost 4 years. He developed seizures and
incontinence during our years with him, but this was minor to us, and it
didn't damper his charming spirit. He was such a loyal companion to us for
the short time we had him.
Benji had some strokes at the end and lost the ability to walk and had
also stopped eating his regular food. We spent 2 wonderful days constantly
by his side until he went to the Rainbow Bridge. We will scatter some of
his ashes in the snow in our backyard where he loved to roll whenever it
snowed and will keep the rest of his remains in a special place in our
home.
We hope we were able to make him as happy as he made us for 4 years. We
will always be thankful to LEARN for finding him for us. He will be
terribly missed and will always be in our hearts.
