There a many reasons to consider adopting a Rescue dog, here are just a few:
Saving the life of a healthy, happy dog.- Knowing the temperament and behavior traits before bringing a dog home.
- Getting a dog that may already be well-trained.
- Getting a dog that is already housebroken.
- Helping to address the huge dog overpopulation problem.
Working with a Rescue
Not all Rescues are the same. There are some good Rescues and some bad Rescues and some organizations calling themselves Rescues that aren’t Rescues at all. Unfortunately, the adopter usually gets much more than they expected (with sick animals and the resulting high Vet bills) when they adopt from a less-than-reputable “Rescue.” Please do your homework before adopting.
