Midnight

UPDATE
Midnight came into LEARN mid-June as an owner-surrender to an emergency clinic in Chicago.  She had been hit by a car and suffered 5 pelvic fractures.  LEARN paid for a left pelvic implant to help the worst of the fractures.  Unfortunately, her recent x-rays show that she needs more surgery.  Her right hip socket fracture didn’t heal as expected and her vet thinks she’ll experience significant pain within a year if it is not correct.  As well, the vet found a luxating left patella.  The plan is to repair the left knee first in order to stabilize her left pelvic area, 4-6 weeks recovery, then the femoral head surgery followed by another 4-6 weeks recovery.  She’s almost full grown at a whopping 33 pounds (10 months old) and it’ll be important that she maintain normal weight throughout her life to save on her rear joints.  The fact that she’s slim now is a bonus for her recovery.  She is a lovely, funny girl with a very cool personality.  If you could hear her bark with a toy in her mouth, you’d fall in love.

Midnight is a seven month old lab mix that was hit by a car.  She is a petite girl who is said to get along with other dogs and children.  Midnight will be on medical hold until she has recovered from her surgery and is at least partially through her rehab.  Check back for more information on Midnight.

L.E.A.R.N. is able to help Labradors and Laborador mixes with the help of our volunteers, foster homes and supporters.  If you would like to help with Midnights care check out her Bones for Special Needs Lab page.
