Jenna Lab 359

Jenna, a 5-1/2 year old black lab, came into our life in June of 2001. For nine years she was the third corner of a triangle that defined our family.  She was the sweetest, smartest dog that either of us has ever known. Big on eye contact as she looked at us when we talked to her, she appeared to be trying so hard to understand English.

She was good for us physically; I walked a couple of thousand miles during the nine years she was with us that I otherwise would not have.

She was good for our souls; she would smile and dance when she knew she was going to the beach, for a ride, to chase tennis balls in the snow, or just out for a walk. She would initiate play by tossing her rope at me, challenging me to our “tug of rope” games.

Life went on, she got older and frailer, and yesterday, at 14-1/2, we so sadly let her go.

I know we will recover, but right now it really hurts. We miss her so much.
