We adopted Dakota (formerly known as Cassie) from LEARN on December 12, 1999. She was a great dog. Enjoyed going for boat rides, napping, the snow, playing with the neighbor kids, napping and waiting for people to drop food. Oh, did we mention napping.

It is with very heavy hearts that we let you know that Dakota passed away on April 21, 2009. She had kidney failure. After 2 long days at the vet, trying to help her get over this infection. Dakota could not fight anymore. It was the hardest thing Bryan and I have ever had to do. Not a day goes by that we don’t think of her.

We have some comfort in knowing we did everything we could for her. She is in a better place, and we look forward to the day we can see her again.
